Unless your goal is partying, this place is a must try in Canoa. A variety of tropical trees in the yard, part of the architecture. Very nice rooms. Cheerful, colorful paintings and text signs in the shared spaces. Small own library….

There’s not much to say about Casa Shangri La that hasn’t already been said. I stayed at this hostel for about a week in total, and it was TRANSFORMATIONAL! Canoa, in general, turned out to be such a hidden gem on the coastline….

What a great place! Really this is the place to stay… It is in the lonely planet. “Jerry” the owner makes this place a travelors paradise. The cabana by the pool has a cooler with beers on the honor system. Hammocks by the rooms. A variety of rooms to pick from….

The rooms were lovely and the prices even better. The owner and his wife are extremely kind and helpful. It is only a short stroll from the noise of town and I have not slept as well as I did there at any other place on the coast. The Dutch owner speaks 4 languages ….
